Where We Come From

Our original Alumni Corps consisted mostly of former Toronto Optimists and Seneca Optimists members; however, the mix has changed dramatically. Today, over forty different corps and bands are represented! The Our Members Marched With page points to photos and write-ups for some of the corps with which our members marched. Other will be added in the future. In addition, the Our members marched with section of the Photo gallery contains photos of many of these corps.

We are Looking For

The majority of our members had not played in 30 or 40 years so most of us have really started from scratch. It’s taken effort but it’s been enjoyable! Previous experience is NOT required. We are looking for:

  • marching members in all sections (guard, horns and percussion)
  • support staff
  • those who are willing to learn and to contribute
  • individuals able to, or willing to, learn to read music
  • those who are able to meet our inexpensive yearly dues and rehearsal fee obligations

Rehearsals and Performances

There are two ensemble rehearsals a month as well as optional sectional rehearsals on Thursdays. Indoor rehearsals are usually held at the Royal Canadian Legion (formerly Rameses Shrine Temple), 1395 Lakeshore Blvd. West in Toronto. Click here for a Map (acrobat file).

  • we expect that members will attend a minimum of one ensemble rehearsal each month
  • we expect members to practice at home, between rehearsals
  • we expect that members will endeavour to attend all scheduled performances
  • and we hope our members will have fun and enjoying playing with us

Concerned about Commuting?

We have members who commute from various places, including the Ottawa, Peterborough, Sudbury, Belleville, Barrie and Kitchener-Waterloo areas. Carpooling might be a solution.
