50 Years!

| Autumn, 1957, saw the formation of the Toronto Optimists Drum and Bugle
Corps. Between 1958 and 1975 the corps won 12 Canadian National
Championships and a multitude of other awards. In 1976 the Toronto Optimists
and the Seneca Princemen merged to form the Seneca Optimists. The Seneca
Optimists finished in the top 12 of DCI in both 1976 and 1977. The corps'
final contest was in 1978.
In 2003 an Alumni Corps was formed. Today, the Optimists Alumni has
representatives from over 40 different drum and bugle corps. We even have a
few members who have waited 40, or more, years to join as well as others who
have just recently discovered us.
Over the years, the friendship, support and training offered by the Optimist organization had a positive influence on the
lives of thousands of people, many of whom now march in the Alumni Corps. We
in the Optimists Alumni Corps are proud of our past and we welcome others to
share our future. As we march forward we
continue to offer friendship, support and training to all who choose to join
us. |
